Happy Thor's Day, my fellow watchers and watcherettes!
As the title says, this is a piece I did last night to get me started on the usual pages and commissions. It took me approximately an hour and, as usual with these pieces, it was extremely fun and liberating.
The mighty Conan is always a great subject to illustrate, especially in black and white.

A hint of Frazetta here. While REH described him as being able to move stealthily in armour (I think it was chest, head and half the limbs), Frazetta went for massive muscles and loincloth as that was the style he could do, and it's kinda stuck since.
Part of the reason I believe why Arnold Schwarzenegger was selected for the role, in spite of needing to Tone Down so he could wield a sword properly.
I'm not sure who - or what - Conan is fighting here, but I get the feeling he's in for a tough fight, as he seems prone to seeking to me.
