Happy Saturday, folks! 

I hope you're having a good, relaxing weekend so far. Mine is full of preparations for long days of coloring ahead, so I decided to warm-up accordingly.

It's interesting how these images come to life with the vibrancy of the color palette from the show. As much as I love B&W, like I said earlier in other pieces, for certain characters color is inevitable. And I'm always surprised at the choices the makers of the original cartoon made and how they work so nicely together. One of the best things about doing fan art, as Jake Parker put it in one of his inspirational videos, is that you have to be in the mindset of the folks who've come up with these concepts; you walk through what they conjured up and in doing so, learn more about certain elements and compositions, as well as hues and palettes.

So, this has definitely been very eye-opening and I hope to keep discovering much more in the course of doing these series of illustrations.
