Description

"I am the brother of Elia Martell. And do you know why I've come all the way to this stinking shit pile of a city? For you. I am going to hear you confess before you die: You raped my sister. You murdered her. You killed her children. Say it now, and we can make this quick. Say it. You raped her! You murdered her! You killed her children. You raped her! You murdered her! You killed her children! YOU RAPED HER! YOU MURDERED HER! YOU KILLED HER CHILDREN! You're dying? No, no, no, you can't die yet. You haven't confessed! Say it. Say her name: Elia Martell. You raped her. You killed her children. Elia Martell! Who gave you the order? WHO GAVE YOU THE ORDER?! Say her name! You raped her! You murdered her! You killed her children! Say it! Say her name! SAY IT!" -

Prince Oberyn Martell of Dorne

So, yeah... last Sunday's Game of Thrones episode left most people in awe (as usual, I believe when it comes to this show), myself included. But maybe not for the same reasons; I knew what was coming, so I wasn't really surprised by the episode's ending. What surprised me is how well the transition from book to the TV format has been done. Adapting any book is always a chore and you lose a lot of things in the process. Yet, HBOs Game of Thrones seems to enhance the books by adding another layer to George R. R. Martin's Westeros and its inhabitants, giving everyone the chance to see this realm materialised with amazing performances.
Pedro Pascal's Oberyn Martell was truly an engaging and amazing character, that was so well developed that, to be honest, only shines even more through the tragedy befalling him.

This is something I did to vent some of the inspiration these whole show and especially this episode left me with. A VERY quick illustration, but I think one doing justice to the Red Viper's last stand. I believe I've been getting increasingly better at likenesses, so that's something I'm very happy about as well as my incorporating a bit of a spoiler about Oberyn in the background.

Back to work now and hope you GoT's fans out there let me know if I did good!
