There used to be a time when this image would leave people in awe. When catching a bullet was almost a miraculous event, only performed by a legend.

Superman was, and will always be the first of a long history of men who can do things we can only dream of. He was the precursor, the embodiment of what a superhero should be. A heroes' hero. A legend.

This is a small tribute I made to the Man of Steel and simpler times, when comics were fun and entertaining. When seeing a man catch a bullet or fly was fabulous. Something that I think has got a bit lost lately. It seems as though in trying to get people to take the business seriously, we've made it too dark and gritty. Anyone can catch a bullet these days in comics; it's almost the least you can do. And that takes the fun off of it, sometimes.

I hope you enjoy this 'in-between deadlines' small illustration. There may be more coming to homage Superman as I take advantage of this particular mood I'm in.
