Description
What? Two deviations in one day?... Don't rub your eyes too hard, it's true!
Since I spent so much time without updating my Gallery, I thought I'd give you watchers and watcherettes a treat and show these latest pieces of which I'm very proud of.
On top of this rather exquisite piece of steampunk
I switched gears and went back to Gotham City to take a few steps in the shadow of the Bat.
I think this is the second time I've actually drawn Batman in my whole life. Though I've always been a huge fan of The Detective, I think it was that love what prevented me from drawing him. It's as if, for respect, I decided to let other people (more talented people) work on him.
However, when I was given the chance to render him atop the towering buildings of Gotham I jumped at the opportunity at once. Even more so, because the client requested a version of his costume that's very comic-esque, as opposed to the dark suit he's illustrated in these days.
I think it's a fair rendition of The Dark Knight and I'm happy to say that Mr. Wayne looks very grim indeed in my style. And whilst the colours of the costume are rather vibrant, I still managed to paint them dark enough to make them as menacing as I could; a detail that coupled with his brooding pose, evokes what the character is all about for me.
You'll let me know if I've succeded or not with this one, as usual. And, also, I'd like you to take notice of how wonderful these latest 6"x4" look, so if you're so inclined and want to invest some buck in artwork, pay attention to a Journal coming up very soon.
Enjoy!

The shoulder highlight reminded me of the pipe popularly favoured by another famous detective.
