Happy Thursday, folks!
As the dust settles on the release of the latest Star Wars film last year, with controveries flying all over the place, I felt a bit nostalgic about simpler times.
The last Jedi is certainly quite an achievement, visually and as a film. And while I love <i<Rian Johnson</i>'s work ever since I saw his first film "Brick", I felt a bit let down by this latest endeavor of his. For some reason, the movie just didn't click with me, which isn't to say it was bad at all. It just... wasn't for me. So, as I reflect upon the mixed feelings it gave me, I decided to go back in time a bit while warming-up today and pay my respects to the forever feisty Princess Leia.
As you know, I'm not huge on likenesses, but the characters in the Star Wars saga have become so archetypal that I don't think they really need to be depicted as an exact facsimile of the famous actors that embodied these heroes. That said, I did try my best at honoring the great late Carrie Fisher as much as possible. I hope I did her justice!
Lastly, you've all been incredibly kind towards my depictions of "A New Hope" in this B&W format, so you may be happy to know that I am more than willing to tackle more small pieces like this in future practices
Thanks as usual and see you shortly!
