FREE MARS - Machine Head

Happy Friday, folks! 

As is usual since a couple of months back, I bring you the weekly FREE MARS update, this time around focusing once again on the villainous side of the story

This gentleman's name is Vrill and fans of the webcomic should be able to deduct who he is. Though he had a small part in the tale as an antagonist sent to kill the girls, this ex-corporate soldier turned mercenary, turned metal singer/bassist of the infamous Orbital Burn ensemble, he's back in all of his cybernetic glory to prove that dying in the future is a relative status When we last saw this guy, he was being thrown out of a hovercar onto the hard concrete pavement of one of Mars' hab-pyramids to his (apparent) doom. However, as a deleted scene we posted later attested, that was not to be the case if the corporation had even the slightest chance of saving a valuable asset. Which they did and thus, we get this new and improved killing machine more hell bent than ever on wiping out The Sisters Grimm from existence.

I've always enjoyed villains and I'm on the side of those who say that heroes are as great as their nemesis. With Vrill, Dave and I wanted to homage all of the great cyborg characters in fiction, even going as far as nodding to one infamous sith lord from a galaxy far, far away What I did find interesting drawing him again after all these years is how easy the design aspect of his implants came out. I thought I'd had a harder time with all of the shapes and angles of his augmented body, but it seems my years practicing cybernetics have paid off.
