FREE MARS - Keytar Hero

Hey folks!

So, Friday came and went and with it, another mandatory Freedom Fighting Friday illustration from FREE MARS.

Ever since I did the illustration of Vikki, lead guitar and vocalist of The Sisters Grimm a few weeks back, I decided to do a small series of the girls from FM playing their respective instruments. This week it's Veruca's turn, the last member of the band to be added before the long hiatus that we took from the tale and one of my favorite characters. Granted, all of the girls have a piece of my heart and a detail (or several) that makes them special; but this girl here is what balances it all out, I think.
In the story, the first time we see Veruca, she's helping the band escape a vicious attack by former CSC soldiers turned mercenary, turned heavy metal heroes. She blasts the opposition before giving Vikki, Taryn and Sam the keys to the revolutionary leader's car to make their final run for safety. After that, she's in every major strike against the corporation as the number one operative of the Martian Liberation Front and not only that: she also finds her way into one of the band's heart as well as becoming the resident piano/keyboard player, thus turning the three-woman show into a proper quartet.
It's that eclectic mixture of military experience on top of black ops. savvy as well as classical training in piano and music that makes Veruca one of the most interesting and complex characters we've created. And quite honestly, she doesn't give a f*ck about anything either, which is always super-fun to draw

So, I hope you enjoy this one, once again in pen and ink because time is very limited these days. Luckily, the response to my previous post with taryn was so overwhelmingly positive that I trust you'll endorse this one and I thank you in advance for it
