My fellow watchers and watcherettes...
I can't begin to tell you how many times I've been asked by fans of the Dark Millenium of Warhammer 40,000 to get back into drawing comics. And I wish I could do it, but the big reason against it is that it would be a labour of love and for those, I sadly have no time right now.
That said, though, I seriously planned on returning to a comic project depicting life in the grim darkness of the far future a year ago, and starring none other than the (in)famous Inquisitor Gregor Eisenhorn.
I even asked permission of the author himself, none other than the great Dan Abnett, whom told me he'd have no problems in supervising my adaptation of a short story within the Eisenhorn Omnibus, entitled M.I.A. It was going to be black and white, both because it's faster to render for me, and because B&W gives comics a very pulp-y atmosphere which I think goes very well with dan's creations.
These are the development sketches as well as two pages I'd done of how I would be approaching the project. Dan said, and I quote: "these are very very cool indeed. I love the personality that leaps out of each one of them. It feels like you're having huge fun with them. I am seriously impressed again."
I was out of myself with glee
Unfortunately, I never did have the time to go through with this, but I thought you might enjoy seeing it, even in its primitve form. Maybe with some encouraging this will still see the light of day!
So, let me know what you think and Happy Friday to you all!
