Bad to the bone

I completed this due homage little by little in what very sparse spare time I have. But it was well worth it.

When I watched the trailers for Breaking Bad many years ago, I remember thinking 'This is going to be good'. I was not dissapointed. Vince Gilligan and his crew made this show an amazing ride episode after episode and the finale (as many have stated) was true to the spirit of the tale.

I've always been fascinated by the idea that society suffocates some folks so much, that some of them are bound to snap. I loved 'Falling Down' with Michael Douglas back in the day, and Mr. Walter White reminded me a lot of that character on the edge. And, whilst their actions are always condemnable, stories such as these show how precarious laws really are and how it only takes a second to break them and step away from civilisation's yellow brick road.

Breaking Bad's visuals were a great inspiration to me when it comes to landscapes and colors and I wanted to evoque some of that in this depiction; because though I chose the series' ubiquitous green, the composition and open space of the background behind the characters speaks a lot of the scenery seen in the episodes.
That said, the detail I'm most proud of is the likenesses of the infamous Heisenberg and his associate Pinkman. I was never very good at that and I'm glad that this great show moved me enough to do a good job of it. There's a lot of emotion in their eyes and I'm happy it I managed to get that accross.

So, a fond farewell and long life to 'the one who knocks'.
