An ideal of Hope

Description

"You will give the people of Earth an ideal to strive towards. They will race behind you, they will stumble, they will fall. But in time, they will join you in the sun. In time, you will help them accomplish wonders."

Jor-El, Man of Steel.

Happy Friday, dear watchers and watcherettes!

It's been quite a busy week this one, thus my abscence from these parts. As the weekend approaches and I'm a bit less pressed for time, I've made myself a few minutes to upload a new piece I hope you all enjoy.

The only good thing about a long overdue commission (this was three years in the making!) is that I get to update the original request with my renewed skills and maybe even the latest design for the character to be portrayed. In this case, the Man of Steel.
The client had asked me for a Superman image which I gladly took up, since I don't often get a chance to draw licensed superhero characters; and between my lack of time due to real life issues and then some, coupled with many projects in-between, we ended up in such a long wait. The understanding and patience from this fellow was rewarded in two ways, finally: he got a bigger image than he intended as a way from me of saying 'Thanks' for his kindness and he also got to update Superman to his latest incarnation (which he loved so much as I did!).
I especially liked the way I interpreted Henry Cavill's likeness in my style. I was never very good at likenesses, but I am getting a bit better, don't you agree?

So, here it is for your perusal. I have some more fan art coming up from this film, so I hope you're not bored easily :D

See you all soon and have a fantastic weekend!

Nic.-

I amazed by how your style has, maybe not evolved but, been polished to a point that highlights realistic human features while retaining the unique quality of your art.
