Description

Happy Monday, folks!

It's been a while since I've managed an update right at the beginning of the week. Despite my numerous chores, I needed some warming-up before a slew of inking pages in the days to come, so black and white imagery always gets me 'in the zone' so to speak and makes me work faster afterwards.

One thing I've found very interesting to try out and I think I heard the great Alan Moore talk about it in an interview, is to take classic shots from films or any other works I find inspiring and attempting to make them my own. Tilting the camera or changing the shot altogether; even filling in the blanks between scenes with what I think would've happened gives you both freedom to explore your own ideas and a reference frame at the same time. Hence, what I've attempted to do with these Star Wars pieces.
This excersise does not only make you pay more attention to what made the original great, but it can also help ground your own storytelling and find what does/doesn't work and what you could improve.

I believe this is my first time drawing a Tusken Raider and I'm pretty happy with the results, even if we just see the attacker from behind. Luke, on the other hand, seems to be growing in my style and I could potentially keep going with more of these, if time allows.

I hope you all have a great week and thank you for watching!

See you soon.

Nic.-
