Happy Tuesday folks!
What with me doing regular updates these past couple of months, missing some days due to my hellish schedule always feels off. But such is work as an artist and I try to make up for it with as much awesomeness as possible when I do get to share something. Point in case, this page we have here.
I don't know how many of you are artists out there but I'm assuming a lot
Despite all of the frustrations and stress arising from being a freelancer, this job will always be a dream come true. And there's a dream within the dream (at least for me) which has been and continues to be to a degree, to be able to one day be given the task of drawing some of the characters that inspired me to follow art as a career in the first place.
As a 10-year-old learning how comics were made, I've strived towards that goal. To be able to open up an issue of a Marvel comic and see my artwork in display and whilst I know it isn't easy to get to do such a thing (especially when there's way much more capable hands doing it!) we can still dream and impress our inner kid by rendering a classic.
Iron Man has been a favorite of mine even before the 2008 film that kickstarted the MCU, so I'm glad he was vindicated as a cool character after all those years. Drawing armor and technology was my strong suit ever since I began scribbling, so my skills and the shellhead were a very natural pair. Of course, getting to draw a book with Mr. Stark officially would be mind-blowing, but until that happens, I have these test pages and warm-ups to satisfy my hunger with. That and the fact that my son Ben was out of his mind when he saw this one, him being the worthy son of a huge nerd That's a huge reward in my heart.
Speaking of the armor, I used a bit of a mix between the widespread new take of the films and the classic comic version, to get a very interesting mix of both. I might do another take where I can show off the design better.

The only thing this page needs to be perfect is a little more AC/DC!
