Seven Stones

Description

Hello there, good folk of dA!

After a hectic Monday, I can finally sit down and hopefully grab your attention with an amazing project I'm involved in: the Seven Stones.

What exactly is this project? It's an undertaking helmed by the writer C.E.L Welsh and the good people at OUTLAND Entertainment of which I'm a part of. As Art Director ~JerMohler posted up on his Journal, "Seven Stones includes seven stories of The Wrecked Earth, the setting of C.E.L. Welsh's debut novel, CLUTCH, and its upcoming sequels. The stories of Seven Stones are set after Rockfall before the events of CLUTCH.

The Wrecked Earth is our world, or it used to be until the meteors started falling. The devastation started with Rockfall and never stopped. Civilization was destroyed, and now strange societies and loose bands of misfits struggle for power. Fallen meteors leak radiation, changing the landscape and mutating all that touches them. Herds of mutant animals roam the land and people struggle to survive.

Seven writers were chosen. Each of them was tasked with writing the story of a stone, a special meteorite of The Wrecked Earth. Seven artists brought the stories to life as comics. The result? The coolest word-and-picture project since the world ended."

As you might have guessed, I'm one of the seven artists mentioned above. And not only do I get to draw a wickedly cool post-apocalyptic setting but the writer I'm drawing it for is none other than the legendary Howard Mackie! How cool is THAT? :boogie: He's written everything from Spider-Man, to Ghost Rider to a thousand other titles and is currently working on a Batman story. It's a dream come true for me and a huge honor.

Our story, entitled Cash and Carry deals with brother and sister Cash and Cari who flit across the post-Rockfall landscape stealing what they need to survive. When they steal from the Satan’s Sisters crew, Cash and Cari are given a choice: Die…or enter the remains of an overrun cemetery and retrieve what the Sister's call the “Heart of Darkness.” Sounds about as cool as it gets!

This illustration is the cover to that story, which I hope you enjoy. And, of course, you are welcome to come by the KICKSTARTER page for the project and help fund it! We'll be eternally grateful and you'll get an amazing array of rewards for your contribution: www.kickstarter.com/projects/1…

Thanks again for taking the time to come by and help us spread the word!
