</span>Happy Tuesday, folks!
I've been having quite a bout of nostalgia lately, which has in turn had me watching 80s cartoons again while I work. One of the perks sitting down at a drawing table all day long!
Thundercats was and is one of my all-time favorites. I loved everything about the concept and I do miss the days when something could just be, without it being over-explained. Case in point: a feline race landing on a post-apocalyptic (?) Earth and waging a war on a mummified dark lord bent on their destruction. Sign me up! Even 2011s remake proved how cool a concept it could be with a little updating. So, in the little spare time I allow myself each day to warm-up before duty, I've been depicting Thundera's finest starting of course, with the leader himself: Lion-O.
One of the things I was most surprised with is how well the animation holds-up even to this day; espcially the intro! Thus, I wanted to give this warm-up some of that old-scholl vibe. You'll notice that the background looks much more 'painterly', so to speak while the figure is more clearly defined, which is the way the series looked way back when.
