Happy Friday, fellow watchers and watcherettes!

I didn't want to go more days in absolute silence over here, so I decided I'd post something of certain significance.

My good friends and work partners at OUTLAND Entertainment have teamed up with artist/writer extraordinaire Mat Nastos (author of bestselling sci-fi book 'The Cestus Concern' as well as other projects for Marvel, DC, Disney and many more) to bring back to life the works of the late independent artist Barry Blair. Starting with Elflord, the idea is to slowly bring back all of Blair's original and awesome characters back with renewed styles and stories.
What I liked more about the whole project and Blair's work is that he was the true embodiment of what an independent comic creator should be: driven, original, hard-working and focused. He published more than 600 pages all told in his career and had even twice the ammount of ideas at the time of his death. An admirable guy whom I hope to emulate with my own determination and love for comics.

The lady you see here is Lynx, a badass warrioress whom will be appering in the pages of the new comic. I chose her because of my obvious love of the female form and because her spin-off from the Elflord title is one of the few comics of Barry that made it to my country back in the day.
I love that I could do it in B&W (I wouldn't had had time for color anyway) because that gives it that indie look that Blair's comics had and enhanced the atmosphere of the illustration itself and the concealed sillhouetes of the assailants out for her.

So, check out the current Elflord REBORN Kickstarter campaign and donate if you can. The new artwork and story are great and there's going to be a lot of rewards for the folks who pledge!
