Glory Days

My patient watchers and watcherettes...

It's been quiet here in the Gallery. Too quiet, it seems; my last upload was a couple of weeks ago when I hought I'd be able to post more. Alas! Time flies and deadlines beckon...

Howeer, and amisdst the myriad projects I'm working on, including commissions and the weekly updates of FREE MARS, I manged to sneak a little image of my favourite corner of the Dark Millenium: the Daniverse.

I've drawn Inquisitor Ravenor not so long ago, in his entombed form after his body got terribly crippled during the Thracian Atrocity: [link]
But I later felt like rendering his whole self. It's seldom seen, so I had a very good time researching Mr. Abnett's description of him and of course, drawing Gideon.
I chose B&W as usual when I'm illustrating Abnett's works, because I feel it suits his writing style and tales much better than colour. B&W has a very gritty, pulp-noir atmosphere that gives me room to explore the textures of Dan's narrative, whilst still respecting his own vision and the fans'.
Inks are also very fast and natural for me, that's why I can take just an hour and a half after work to do this.
