FREE MARS - 2012

My dear watchers and watcherettes...

First off, I hope you all had a great new year start and that things look promising for this 2012. I'm certainly hoping this year to be a turning point for me, so fingers crossed it will be significant to us all.

Now, a lot of time has elapsed since my last upload here and that's one thing I'll try to correct this year. I'll do my best to keep up on dA and show you all what I'm up to every week. I have a lot of projects due and many commissions and illustrations to show you, provided I finish them

This is the first illustration of 2012, and (not surprisingly) it has FREE MARS as its central theme. Why? Because this year will be the 'Year of Mars' for Dave Pauwels and I. There's lots of big news regarding our project and, after this Friday's Track 4 finale, things will become epic in Track 5, nearing the completion of what Dave calls the 'Book I' of our saga.

The gentleman I drew has no identity yet and is, for now, a firm revolutionary soldier that has become as hardened as you can on the troubled soil of the red planet. That is mostly given away by the fact that he's standing with a quiet grimace in the aftermath of a micro-fusion explosion (its detonation looking like this: ); and the scars.
I love detailing the background of FM and each character that pops out has so much personality that I think it will be a long way before I'm able to say I'm out of ideas for this universe.

I hope you enjoy this first taste of 2012 from me, and that you join me on this year's ride!
