The Guardsman is the spirit in search of experience. Both the beginning and the end, neither and otherwise, betwixt and between.
I found an Imperial Guardsman in the Dark millenium to be a good equivalent of 'The Fool' in the traditional Tarot. The constant struggle against all odds of the Imperial Guard is akin to this archetype's significance: a Guardsman can die within a few steps of his deployment or win a famous battle, becoming a hero. The Imperial Guardsmen's blind faith and commitment to their cause if both their strength and downfall.
I also replaced the classic dog at The Fool's feet for a more adequate servo-skull.
