Thus, to honor Gregor's advantage, I thought of dedicating one of my warm-ups to illustrating one of his most cherished allies and possibly the only everlasting love he knew: Alizebeth Bequin.
As Dan himself once told me when he saw my character designs for the Eisehorn strip I had planned, it was clear that I was having a lot of fun with the characters. I couldn't agree more and this depiction of Bequin I'm posting is hands down one of the most beatiful women portraits I've done. And it's just black and white! That goes to show how poignant and full of spirit Abnett's novels are.
I've yet to read 'Pariah', but I hope to have done justice to the Bequin that once was: the beautiful, yet slightly tragic woman who found herself mixed into the life of one of the Inquisition's best. Her powers were both a blessing and a curse to those around her, but her beauty was never diminished by her experiences and knowledge of the worst the Galaxy had to offer. If anything, she only grew brighter with experience.
