Hello again dear watchers and watcherettes...
As you all might've noticed, I'm trying my best to offer you what you like to see from me and which you voted for in my latest Poll: [link]
My last upload had the Dark Millenium being the strong theme of it, as many, MANY of you out there asked for. As I said, I am both astounded and honoured that you think that's my best work and even though I feel like I'm cheating a bit - because these aren't my characters - the fact that my style has managed to get so much praise from the wargaming community is truly rewarding.
This new illustration features the second place within your poll choices: Sword and Sorcery
. I've always loved the genre, and even though it's clear I'm at my best doing gothic sci-fi, it's great to also see you recognise and like my Fantasy pieces.
Thus, I bring you the Skull Queen
. Who she is, exactly, or where she belongs too, as well as if she's bad, good or downright chaotic is up to you. That's one of the things with Fantasy: there's so much left to the viewers interpretation that you're as much part of the work as myself.
Stylistically, I think this is one of those gems that come by every once in a while. I finished it in nearly three hours work, from pencils to colours. That's the mark of a great image right there; the time involved in illustrating often flies when you're doing your best, as I've found out.
The textures, the pose, the anatomy, the haunting background and colour palette, combined, give this image a very BROM-esque vibe to it and feels way more professional than other works I've done.
As you can tel, I'm very proud of this one and I couldn't way to show it to you. I hope you agree with me.
Let me know what you think as usual and I do expect I'm spoiling you all a bit. You deserve it
