Apocalypse Now

The Emperor Protects! or so they say...

The Emperor certainly keeps me busy fellow watchers and watcherettes.

This is a personal milestone, because I finished this illustration in a record time of four days (with many other deadlines in-between). And, this being an A4 canvas, that's quite fast!

The brief for this one was simple, which is always the best kind of description. I had to render an epic, apocalyptic battle of Imperium vs. Chaos/everyone else, showing as many troops as I could.
Of course, the brief was simple, but the task was actually a bit titanic; and so not all of the troops I wanted to get into it did make the final cut. The main ones did, though: The Silver Skulls, The Death Korps of Krieg guardsmen, tanks, a titan, a Bloodthirster, ships in orbit, a doomed Moon and the Alpha Legion. Not everything I would've wanted, but most of it, I reckon...
