The Witches Three - Delphi by NicolasRGiacondino
The Witches Three - Delphi
Happy Friday, fellow deviants!

I was planning on uploading this one sooner, but it's been pretty crazy here with work so I only managed to do it now that the day is almost over.

This illustration is the first of three posters I've done to promote my work on yet another webcomic project: The Witches Three. The premise, as stated in the website, deals with "The Dark Ages, a time of loss far greater than we know. The Wicca culture was exterminated, save for The Witches Three. Follow their incredible journey and how they came to be the protectors of Gaia."

You may be familiar with the work I did previously for DarkBrain on Envoy 82, but if you aren't I must warn you: there's sexually explicit content in these comics.
It's strange for me to have to warn people against something that is part of our nature and daily lives, but such is the way of the world and especially US-based projects. Having grown-up with european masters, I am used to seeing sex depicted as much as violence or any other motivator within a tale for storytelling and narrative. But I understand that might not be the case with many comic fans not used to these graphic novels. Thus, you were warned!

If you do not fear sexuality, then you will enjoy the hell out of this comic. Mostly because sex is, as I said above, part of the storytelling and not the story itself. The story is quite epic and deals with the Crusades, mysticism, Fantasy and sorcery. A lot of fun subjects I'm happy to be able to tackle! I've always been an enthusiast of medieval times, so getting to do a whole novel set in those times was a dream come true.
You'll also find very strong female leads in the form of The Witches, with Delphi here being one of them. She has the gift of foresight, which I tried to symbolise in the illustration's proverbial third eye unfolding. A pillar of strength for her sisters, she's the diplomat of the group, trying to find the balance in all things and the understanding needed to stop violence and decay in the Dark Ages.

The first issue is available for free in the website and the second issue will be released weekly, with new page updates every Friday. If you can take a minute to check it out and support the project, that'd be amazing! We need all the fans we can get for the Witches if we are to continue their tale; comment, share and give us your critiques. Everything is appreciated!

I hope to see you there and have a great weekend!

Sexy TIE by NicolasRGiacondino
Sexy TIE
Hello, dear watchers and watcherettes!

I hope you've all been well these past weeks; I've been busy as usual and trying to get caught up on a LOT of very long overdue commissions (including some shameful 4-year-old requests!). Add to that other ongoing projects and things get stressful very fast. That said, it's a wonderful kind of stress :D

This illustration here is a perfect example of why I like to work in this business. I get to draw things that I wouldn't have come up on my own and for the best possible reasons. This image was commissioned quite a while ago by a client to be specifically used as a tattoo design. I've done many of those over the years and it still baffles and honours me that someone would be willing to ink their skin forever with my artwork.
The illustration combined (as if doing a tattoo design wasn't cool enough!) two of my favourite subjects: pin-up art and Star Wars! The brief was that simple and the freedom complete, so the result was something I'm very happy with! The dark color palette brings out the skin tones perfectly and I like how the Imperial icon in the back frames the pilot's head like a halo; one of those unexpected accidents that I love to stumble upon.

As usual, let me know what you think and I'll have some more work to show you this week with a bit of an announcement so be on the lookout!

Aerion's dead... long live NRG!

As some of my kind watchers have noticed, I changed my username today to something a bit more professional. For years now, I've been illustrating and working on several projects using my real name and I think it was due time to unify my 'internet persona' into one single entity. It's something I'd been contemplating for quite a while and I hope all of you who follow my work will bear with it.
Aerion will, of course, never go away; he lives in the artwork I do everyday and, if anything, he just became real. As real as the guy behind the pseudonym: Nicolás R. Giacondino!

Master Giacondino, I almost feel that I ought to get you a christening gift given your recent name change!

I am confident that your work will continue to prove equally excellent no matter what name it may carry.Nod

Thank you as usual, my friend!

My real name has always been behind the Aerion persona, so I guess it was time to put myself over my alter-ego and start communicating as such. In fact, if anything, I think it brings me closer to the folks following my work, as they'll be connecting with ME, without any intermediary.

I'll be posting some exciting new work shortly, so I hope to see you there!

While Aerion was a very evocative name, I really (if perhaps irrationally) like that you changed your dA name to your real name.

Your style is iconic, and good!, enough that it's good for new (and perhaps some old) people who watch you via dA to connect it directly with "you", not "Aerion". :) You deserve the recognition! Keep up your great work, keep up your good spirits. :)

Thank you as usual, for your kindness and understanding, my dear Matthäus!

This change's been certainly brewing in my head for quite a while and my name's always been associated with my pseudonym, so I've never been far behind from Aerion. That said, it was due time that I put myself over my alter-ego.

It feels great, to be honest and I'm thankful for the people like you that always show me your support!
