Master Nicholas, thank you for your offers of help; I have since discovered that owing to some Spam attack the boards have decided to suspend registration by new members until the Problem can be solved - I have contacted the Administrators and they have offered me a better chance to register (although it may take some time to resolve the problems).

 Stay Well, Good Master!

Master Nicholas, I am slightly embarrassed by my own presumption in bringing this petition before you, but I am not artist and would greatly prize the opinion of the finest artist of the Dark Millennium with whom I have the honour to claim a personal acquaintance:

I am a man who loves to browse the appendices of published settings for throwaway elements of backstory (characters or places or persons) which I might then bring to life in my own manner (as a writing exercise, with the hope that I may one day graduate from casual writer to Published author) - as you know we share a fascination with the Warhammer 40,000 setting and I quite recently came across an element of that Timeline which not only caught my imagination but refused to let it go.

To cut a long story short I took one look at that fine long list of Chapter names (thirty all told) and decided to bring to life those Chapters and sketch out the honourable History they would have enjoyed before their tragic betrayal as best I could.

With the help of some tools I found online I have done just that and am almost ready to roll them out, but find myself beset with one major worry that keeps me from being entirely confident in what I have created - put simply I am no artist and would greatly appreciate some expert assistance in working out both Sigils and Chapter Livery for those Judged Chapters that lack them.

Now Master Nicholas I know you to be very busy and as a Gentleman I am willing to accept a plain refusal of this request; failing your personal assistance I would be grateful if you could point me towards a club or other community where I might request a second opinion to help me ensure that my descriptions of a chapter not only sound good to ME but will actually delight (or at least satisfy) others.

I thank you, Master Nicholas, for keeping patience with me thus far and would like to stress that I am not looking for free art - what I would like is for an artist with a knowledge of the setting to examine my ideas for the Look and to point out any weaknesses where they might be found and I can imagine vanishingly few (if any) opinions on this topic that I would prize more than your own.

I hope that you will forgive my presumption and that you remain Very Well.:) (Smile)

Hey there, brother!

Sorry that I didn't reply right away; time has been fleeting indeed and the new year hasn't given me any reason to think it'll be less hectic than the last :D

Now, unfortunately as much as my Dark Millenium heart longs to help you out and look over this work of yours, my time is noe almost entirely devoted to scripts and commission briefs; hence, I can't take even five minutes to help out on the project, BUT, I do know of a wonderful place where you can get the feedback you're looking for: The Bolter and Chainsword forums ( ).
I'm sure you must've heard of the site (maybe you're even a member!) and it's the best place I can point you towards where you can post all of your fluff stories and Chapter creations for review by the fraters, whom will most likely give you a great hand in shaping your tale. In fact, there's much wiser and astute folk there when it comes to the background than me, so I'm positive that they'll be able to shed more light on obscures Crusades than I ever will and can also point you towards reading material and so forth.

I hope to have helped and tell the guys at B&C that Aerion sent you :) Maybe they'll still remember my artwork and can give you an extra hand :D

I'll see you around here as usual!

Thank You very much Master Nicholas - I certainly won't fall into a pouting sulk simply because you've confirmed my suspicion that a man of your talents is very seldom blessed with Free Time and I thank you Very Much for taking some moments to give me a good steer towards some equally-helpful Adepts with more freedom to help than your own good self.

I just hope that there will be articles worth reading on every one of the JUDGED Chapters and on the Abyssal Crusade once I've finished working through my notes on them, which I shall do my best to post in my Journal right here on - I also hope that you won't be disappointed should you ever take a look through them.

 Stay Well, Master Nicholas!:) (Smile)
